Director of Alumni Engagement and Stewardship

The Director of Alumni Engagement and Stewardship is a member of the Advancement team who, under the direction of the Director of Institutional Advancement, executes alumni relations programming, volunteer opportunities and stewardship efforts, which fully engage KUA alumni and donors with the institution and one another.
ABOUT THE POSITION 
 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 
 
  • Serve as Advancement liaison in partnership with Director of Events to plan and execute on-campus and off-campus, alumni-focused events including Reunion Weekend. 
  • Develop and manage alumni volunteer opportunities and alumni networks including reunion volunteers, affinity groups, and professional networking. 
  • Develop programs to promote student engagement with alumni. 
  • Partner with Marketing and Communications to develop targeted print and electronic communications including but not limited to stewardship materials, invitations and class notes. 
  • Work closely with members of the Advancement team to support stewardship plans for targeted constituent groups and individuals, including the donor recognition report and endowed fund reporting. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum five years in educational advancement, alumni relations, program management, volunteer management or a comparable field.  
  • Demonstrated organizational and operational skills; superior interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communication; attention to detail.   
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.   
  • High degree of comfort with the use of technology, familiarity with Raiser’s Edge preferred. 
  • Advanced use of MS Office applications required. 
  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.   
  • High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information.   
  • Ability to travel occasionally.
  • Work on occasional nights and weekends to support Advancement and institutional event needs.
 
HOURS OF WORK: The position is year-round and full-time.  The typical expectation is a 40-hour work week, with the understanding that when school is in session, employees work an occasional Saturday and special event weekends. This position requires some travel.
