The Wildcats season started with a trip to Maine to play the Kents Hill School. After an all-around team effort and domination by the Wildcats for the majority of the game, Wildcats took the win with a score of 10-0.
The team played a majority of the time on the right side of the field making many connections and sharp passes. Excellent connections were made by Carissa and Hanna allowing KUA to bypass the Kent Hill defenders and send the ball up to forwards Eloise, Kelly, and Jordyn. Abby and Molly were able to connect several times within the KUA scoring circle allowing for scoring opportunities. Hailey and Anda were solid players in our midfield supporting both our offense and defense, controlling the play in the middle of the field.
Kents Hill was able to get some great opportunities, but our defense stepped to the ball well and was able to keep them from scoring. Olivia, Mia, Lisa, and Delaney had a great day defending our 25yard defensive zone. Shannon in her debut game as a field hockey goalie earned the shutout with five saves.
Wildcats scored five goals in each half coming out 10-0. KUA took advantage of the many earned corners, ten total.
