KUA Defeats Dexter-Southfield

It was a gorgeous day on the Hilltop for a field hockey game. Dexter-Southfield traveled up to KUA for an early afternoon game. Southfield started strong forcing KUA defenders to make some great tackles to protect the Wildcats circle. Southfield got on the board first about 10minutes into the half. Wildcats were quick to respond and scored their first goal just 1 minute later. Hailey sent a hard shot on net off of a corner insert from Molly. Though it was a very evenly matched game and Southfield kept creating offensive opportunities, Wildcats Defense, Mia, and Delaney made great defensive saves and stepped up big for the Wildcats. Four minutes later the Wildcats were able to execute another corner, Abby took a hard shot across the net that Molly deflected in. At halftime, the score was 2-1. In the second half, Carissa had the lone goal of the half, making it 3-1. Carissa carried the ball into the Wildcats offensive 25 and gave a pass to Lisa, Lisa returned the pass that created space for Carissa to take the ball into the circle and she took a hard reverse shot on net. Shannon had a fantastic game in net, denying many shots from Southfield; Moran had a total of 11 saves for the Wildcats. Wildcats are now 3-2 on the season and will travel to Proctor Academy on Wednesday, October 2 for a 2:00 pm game.
