Wildcats Drop Season Finale to Strong St. Paul's Team

Emma Lapsley had another stellar outing in the pitcher's circle and Shannon Moran hit a two-run home run to give the Wildcats an early lead, but the St. Paul's bats proved too potent, eventually knocking across nine runs on the afternoon. St. Paul's began the day with a two-run top of the first inning, but Lapsley settled in and recorded one of her nine strikeouts on the day to halt the rally. In the Wildcats' half of the first, Lapsley led off with a walk, followed by a double by Lulu Leppard. Misora Hashiramoto, who was excellent behind the plate all weekend for the Wildcats, drove home Lapsley on a fielder's choice to cut the St. Paul's lead in half. Moran, the next batter, then belted a 1-1 pitch over the centerfield fence to give KUA the 3-2 lead. The lead held up until the 4th, when a couple of St. Paul's hits, combined with two KUA errors, opened the game up for the visitors. Leppard had two hits on the day, while Hashiramoto, Moran, Michael Cokinos, and Audrey Donahue also scored hits.
