Wildcats Score Early, Beat Holderness

An early start to the first and second periods paid dividends as KUA got a goal from Josh Phillips just 17 seconds into the game and another from CJ Watroba just 28 seconds into the second period as the Wildcats beat Holderness 5-2 on Friday in Meriden. Iain Olsen also scored in the first, but Holderness answered with two late goals to send the game into the intermission tied at two. However, Watroba's goal, followed by a powerplay marker from Rowen Sang gave the Wildcats another two-goal lead. Watroba iced the game with an end-to-end rush goal midway through the third as the KUA defense stood tall. Goalie Blake McMeniman earned the win by kicking out 18 of 20 shots.
