Winter Student-Athletes Earn Recognition
Kimball Union Academy recently recognized 23 winter student-athletes who were honored by the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) and Lakes Region League (LRL) for their contributions to their teams.
The Wildcats had successful winter seasons across multiple sports with the boys’ varsity hockey, girls’ varsity basketball, and boys’ varsity basketball teams each advancing to their respective NEPSAC tournaments; and boys’ hockey taking home the NEPSAC Small School Championship.
“This winter marked one of the most distinguished seasons in recent history for KUA athletics,” Akerstrom Chair of Athletics Becca Main said. “Three teams advanced to NEPSAC postseason play — one emerging as a champion — while our Alpine ski team showcased exceptional talent and leadership by hosting the NEPSAC Championships on our home trails. Beyond team successes, countless student-athletes achieved personal milestones, met ambitious goals, and exceeded expectations through their commitment, perseverance, and growth. These accomplishments reflect not only athletic excellence but the deep character and drive within our KUA community.”
NEPSAC and LRL awards are voted on by coaches and athletic directors of member schools and are issued following the completion of each season. KUA’s 2024-2025 winter athletics award winners include:
