The Kimball Union Wildcats won their first game of the season today against the Tilton Rams. Junior Morgan Walsh (Duxbury, MA) scored the first goal of the game just 25 seconds into the half. While Walsh broke the ice, the whole team worked hard for each draw and after each ground ball. The midfield played a great transition game and the offense worked the ball through various offensive plays. The defense marked the girls tight and prevented the Rams from taking many shots. Walsh finished the game with 5 goals; senior Maura Doyle (Merrimac, MA) scored 3 goals; junior Ellie Harrigan (Park City, UT) scored 3 goals and juniors Storm Sideleau (Contoocook, NH) and Marina Cerulo (West Windsor, VT) scored a goal each. Just as impressive, Walsh and Doyle had 3 assists each and Sideleau had 1 to round out the points.
Christine Bouchat-Bonin (Quebec City, Quebec) had 6 saves in net while newcomer Amelie Poirier (Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec) has 1 save.
The Wildcats play again next Friday at St. Paul’s School.
