Kimball Union Boys Basketball team travelled to Exeter today and came up just short losing 57-54. After a slow start and going down by ten 15-5. KUA got hot hitting 7 out of 10 threes to take a 15 point lead at the half, 36-21. Coming out at the start of the second half the Wildcat offense went cold as Exeter climbed back into the game took the lead and were up by nine late in the half. Timely shooting by KUA’s Kahlil Garnes who had a career night going 9-10 from the field with 7-7 from beyond the arc, KUA rebounded to tie the game at 54-54 with less than a minute to go. Down by two Crew Ainge’s three to take the lead just rimmed out; KUA regained possession with 8 seconds to play when Cooper William’s three to tie the game looked good on the release but it too can off the rim and fell short. This pushes KUA ‘s record to 2-2 with two games coming up this weekend to be played at Babson College.
