KUA battles but comes up short losing to NHS by five, 60-55
The KUA Wildcats returned to Meriden today to take on the perennially strong Huskies of New Hampton School. New Hampton, one of the top prep team in New England came away with the victory, 60-55, but only after surviving a late run by KUA who battled back from a 14 point deficit midway through the half to make it a three point game 58-55 with less than a minute left on the clock. NHS forward, Tyler Lydon calmly sank two free-throws to seal the victory for the Huskies. KUA came out determined to battle and they did just that keeping New Hampton in range all night. Down five at the half KUA continued to play hard throughout the second half only to see their efforts fall just short in the end. Crew Ainge lead KUA scorers with 14 points tonight followed closely by Eli Frater with 12. Luke Rosinski played well at both ends of the court added 9 points as did Kahlil Garnes coming off the bench with nine as well. The Wildcats return to action with a rescheduled home game vs Wilbraham & Monson on Monday at 6pm. KUA's record now stands at 12-9.
