Wildcats fall 12-7 to Huskies

The Wildcats and Huskies fought for four quarters in a physical well-played lacrosse game. New Hampton led 3-1 at the end of the first quarter and then 6-5 at the half.  Halfway through the third quarter New Hampton scored two goals in quick succession to build a 9-5 lead. Typical in this match, and the season on the whole, the Wildcats responded to score the final goal of the third quarter and to narrow the Husky lead to a 9-6 margin. The KUA defense of Jack McCarthy, Vasili Katsarakes, Greg Surgenor, and Parker Hall held firm to start the fourth as the KUA attack generated three opportune scoring chances. Unable to capitalize, the Wildcats finally gave ground as New Hampton found the net midway through the final period to secure the victory.

 

Eric Megnia led the KUA attack with three goals and middies Sam Erb, Will Harrigan, and Kenny Speak all contributed a goal and assist each. Mike Lombardi scored the other KUA goal. Nick Parker recorded 9 saves for KUA.

KUA (3-3) plays at Proctor Friday night.
