Kimball Union traveled to Tilton on Saturday to face a tough Rams hockey team. Tilton came out strong, playing an aggressive and well-disciplined game. The Rams proved to be a formidable opponent. The first Kimball Union goal was scored by Young and was assisted by Finkelstein and Doherty. The game continued with a fast paced back and forth style that proved to give KUA the upper hand. Tilton’s goalie however, played spectacularly making countless point blank saves and keeping the Tilton Rams up by a goal. As the clock ticked down, the game seemed to be a sure win for the Rams, so much so that they even began to celebrate both in the stands and on the bench. Unfortunately for Tilton, the Wildcats would not go down easily and scored at the final buzzer to tie the game and send it into overtime. Doherty scored the final regulation goal with a diving swat that was assisted by Young and Hamre. Once in overtime, the Wildcats found a new burst of energy and won the game with a goal from Hirvonen that was assisted by Shea and Sennott. The Game was a great challenge for the Wildcats and the win was an encouraging one as they head into the Holiday Tournaments.
