KUA’S 191st Commencement to take place May 24, 2008

Meriden, NH, May 19, 2008 --- On May 24, 2008 Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, NH will graduate its 191^st class since its founding in 1813. The ceremony will be held on campus at 11:00 am. The master of ceremonies will be Michael J. Schafer, Kimball Union’s 18^th Head of School.

The commencement speaker will be Sheila A. Culbert. Dr. Culbert is a member of Kimball Union’s Board of Trustees and interim vice president of communications and senior assistant to the president of Dartmouth College, James Wright. She is the newly appointed Head of School of The Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, CTand will begin her new role July 1, 2008.

The valedictorian is Andrew R. Stearns of Enfield, NH and the co-salutatorians are Devon G. Cota of Bellows Falls and Zachary M. Dayno if East Thetford, VT. The class speaker is Orson Webber-McCollaum of Lebanon, NH

Prior to the commencement ceremony, a traditional senior breakfast will be held at Bishop Cottage at 36 Chellis Road. Here seniors gather for the last time, decorate their caps and prepare for their march down the hill. (Please note this is a change of venue from previous years.)

Founded in 1813, Kimball Union Academy is an independent college preparatory boarding and day school for 320 students in grades 9-12 and PG located in Meriden, New Hampshire.
