Lawrence A. MacLeod Jr. '78 Nominated as NH Superior Court Judge

On December 19, 2013, Governor Maggie Hassan announced that Lawrence A. "Tad"  MacLeod Jr., '78 is one of three nominees to serve as judges on the New Hampshire Superior Court.

Lawrence A. MacLeod, Jr., currently serves as a judge in the Grafton County Circuit Court, District and Family Divisions. Prior to joining the bench in 2002, MacLeod operated his own law practice where he focused on civil and criminal litigation, real estate and related transactional work, and family law. MacLeod has also participated in developing programs to address the unique challenges faced by pro se litigants. His court has established a successful mediation program for small claims litigants, he helped found a mental health court in 2012 and he has participated in establishing a youth court as an alternative diversion program for juvenile offenders. After attending Kimball Union, he received his undergraduate degree from Tufts University and his law degree from the University of Maine School of Law.  His son Ash '08 and daughter Jessica '05 are also KUA alumni.
