KUA Falls to Holderness in Close Second Match Up

On Saturday, KUA faced Holderness for a second time this season. It was quickly noticeable that the Wildcats was not the same team Holderness met earlier in the season. The Wildcats came out strong from the first whistle and gave the Bulls a back and forth challenge.

Offensively, KUA had five different goal scorers throughout the match. Svia Russman-Araya had a great game, with four goals and an assist. Hadley Bethke and Caroline Daft added two goals a piece, with Daft logging two assists as well. Portia Berard and Lindie Brinkman added a goal each for the Wildcats.

Defensively, Sylvie McClure, Maggie Lopez, Analena Connors, Mallory Clark, Lindie Brinkman, Svia Russman-Araya and Payson Fowler-Thorsen were a force and worked together to keep the Bulls at bay throughout the game. Bridget Clark was between the pipes and had a great showing as well. Clark had nine saves and continually clear the ball effectively throughout the game.

Possession of the ball was key in the game. Both teams were able to gain control of the ball off the draw nine times, however the Bulls were just able to capitalize more frequently to win the game 13-10 in the end.

The Wildcats have officially finished fifth within the Lakes Region this season and will be hosting Brewster Academy on Wednesday, May 14th for their final game of the season.
