Cardigan Jamboree Highlights

The KUA JV2 soccer team traveled to Cardigan Mountain School for a three-game jamboree, showcasing their development and determination across the matches. In the first game, KUA faced a rematch against NMH, where they showed clear improvement from their previous meeting. The Wildcats dominated possession and outshot NMH, but despite their efforts, they couldn't break through the defense, resulting in a hard-fought 0-0 draw. Fatigue began to set in as KUA took on Holderness in the second game. Holderness took the lead with a perfectly executed free kick, curling it over the Wildcats' four-person wall and into the top left corner. KUA responded quickly to tie the game but ultimately fell 3-1. In the final match against Proctor, the Wildcats battled hard but once again came up short, losing 3-1. Despite the tough results, there were plenty of positives to take away. The team is settling into their formation and gaining confidence in their roles. The standout player of the day was Grant Hedstrom, who controlled the midfield with precision and poise. Hedstrom also netted his first goal of the season in the game against Proctor, scoring a beautifully placed penalty to cap off his strong performance. Though the scores didn't fall in KUA's favor, the team left the jamboree with a sense of progress and optimism for the rest of the season.
