Wildcats Open Prep Cup with Win

The Wildcats got 20 saves from Blake McMeniman and goals from CJ Watroba and Iain Olsen to beat South Kent School 2-1 in the opening round of the Gamesheet Prep Cup in Exeter on Friday. Down 1-0 in the second period, KUA turned up the compete level and had several chances to score before Watroba made a great individual effort to avoid a check on the rush before cutting to the net and wristing the puck five-hole to tie the game. The score remained tied until five minutes into the third period when Olsen also scored off the rush, with assists going to Corwith Simmers and Lucas Siomos. The win sets up a semi-final matchup on Saturday against St. Andrew's College of Toronto.
