Every Minute Counts

Constantly playing from behind, the Wildcats showed impressive perseverance for two periods at Tilton, but let things slip away in the third. KUA spotted Tilton two goals in the opening minutes but fought back to tie the score when Anthony Solt scored a powerplay goal and then scored again when Gunnar Wood waited patiently on a long 2 on 1 until the defenseman committed himself and then slid the puck across to Anthony who fired it in. Tilton went ahead again in the second, but Cole Gueldenzoph scored, and the teams went into the locker room tied at three. Arguably, the Wildcats played well for 14 of the 15 minutes in the third period. They gave up one goal but created a variety of good scoring opportunities and successfully killed off two back-to-back penalties. The period was 15 minutes long, though, and the Wildcats allowed one goal 20 seconds into the start of the period and gave up two more in the final 30 seconds of the game. The team will play games on Friday and Saturday and will then be off until early January.
