The Wildcats faced off against a solid Vermont Dynamo team from Burlington on Friday night and earned their first win of the season. The visitors were young and had many fewer skaters available than the Wildcats, but they were fast and disciplined, and the game was close all the way through. Vermont scored early, but KUA countered with goals from Cole Gueldenzoph and Nick Fife, and Patrick Hyjek came within an inch of a goal as well. Vermont scored next and the teams went into the mid-second period ice make tied at two. Vermont made it 3 – 2 late in the second, but Michael Grazt scored the first goal of his KUA career late in the game to tie things up, and the teams went into a 3 on 3 overtime period. Anthony Solt followed up his two goals at Tilton by scoring the game-winner with an assist from Gunnar Wood, and the Wildcats celebrated their first win. Isaac Bliss and Kobi Lees were also credited with assists, and freshman goalie Mica McGinley-Smith won his first KUA start in the goal.
