KUA’s games with Exeter have been consistently positive and competitive throughout the 21st century, and this season was no exception. The two teams tied in Meriden in January and met again in Exeter. AJ Noel scored from in close early in the game and despite fast and determined play from both teams, that was the only goal of the day. Tyler Wenning was outstanding in the net, denying Exeter any second chances off rebounds, and he earned his third consecutive shutout. Gunnar Wood dropped back to play defense and was strong; Tristan Black and Gabe Laszewski both had good days; Cole Gueldenzoph and Isaac Bliss each created several good scoring opportunities; Liam McKewen was buzzing around the net all day; and Matt Sites and Owen Lewis did a great job killing penalties. All seventeen Wildcat skaters contributed to the win, and the team responded well after a flat showing against Tilton the night before.
