A pitcher's duel, buoyed by strong defense on both sides, saw St. Paul's holding a 1-0 lead in the sixth inning and ended in a 5-0 St. Paul's win in Concord on Friday. The sophomore battery of pitcher Emma Lapsley and catcher Misora Hashiramoto was excellent on the day, as Lapsley struck out six and allowed only four earned runs against a skilled, experience St. Paul's squad. Hashiramoto went 2-for-3 at the plate, with a single and a double. Freshmen Teegan Duffy and Michaela Cokinos also added hits for the Wildcats, who were unable to generate a sustained offensive attack. KUA came within three feet of taking the lead with two outs in the sixth. With Hashiramoto on second, clean-up batter Shannon Moran hit a deep fly to center field, but the St. Paul's centerfielder made the catch up against the fence.
