It was an unfortunate result for the Wildcats against Vermont Academy's JV squad. Despite the loss on home turf, Jake Parodneck turned in one of his finest performances as he pressured the ball constantly. Theo Starosta played a tough game at mid-field, and Munich Tripattaranan provided a strong line at fullback to provide a couple of bright spots over an otherwise overmatched defense. Nill Charoenrujijin was valiant starting at fullback, but the VA offense was too physical for our back players. KUA missed the presence of its starting sweeper, Aidan, as the VA team kept up an at times bruising attack. Leo Barta came in at goal for Devon LeBlanc, who was ineligible to play this game, but a clear foul, that easily could have resulted in a red card, saw him leave the game early. Bleyton Hopps-Thompson took over at goal, but the larger VA side versus our starting eleven with a bench of only three players proved too much. VA did eventually draw a yellow card as their bruising style resulted in a blatant push foul against Alvaro Campos. To add injury to insult, Eric Chung was forced to leave the game with a sprained ankle and will probably miss a couple of weeks as he heals up.
