Big Win Propels Wildcats to Small School Finals

With an 11-0 win over St. George's on Saturday in Meriden, the Wildcats have advanced to the Small School finals in the NEPSAC hockey playoffs. Mikael Tissier scored a hat trick in the first period as KUA took a 3-0 lead into the second period. From there, the Wildcats kept the foot on the gas and got second-period goals from Zach Phillips, CJ Watroba, Corwith Simmers, and Matthew Ross to take a 7-0 lead into the third. In the final frame, Simmers, Iain Olsen, Rowen Sang, and Alexis Gagne added to KUA's lead. Goalie Blake McMeniman pitched a shutout in his final game at Akerstrom Arena, stopping 27 shots in the process. The Small School finals (against either Berkshire or Holderness) is Sunday, March 9 at 2:00 at the University of Connecticut.
