Kimball Union scored 30 1st quarter points and cruised to a 52-0 win over Hyde, Ct.
Travis Jones and Kevin Vieira each scored two touchdowns and KUA posted 30 points in the 1st quarter enroute to a 52-0 win over Hyde, Ct. Colby Husby began the scoring with a 5 yard run and Mike Gerardi found Kellan Grenier in the endzone for the two point conversion. Jones galloped 15 yards out to the endzone for the second score of the game. Omari Mobley picked off a Hyde pass and returned it 25 yards and Husby followed up with a nifty two point conversion run to put the Cats up 22-0. Jones would find paydirt again from 5 yards out at the end of the first quarter and ran the conversion in for a 30-0 score after 1 quarter.
Walter Scott added to the scoring in the second quarter. The senior broke a tackle after a pass reception and scampered in from 5 yards out. Fellow senior, Mike Staton ran in the two point conversion with a tough run. Freshman, Kevin Vieira would add two touchdown runs during the third quarter and the KUA defense held strong for the shutout.
KUA (6-0) battles Proctor Academy (4-2) at Pope Field next Saturday. Game time is at 7:00pm.
