Kimball Union Football Captures NEPSAC Austin Bowl

  The Kimball Union football team ended their season in style, as they were victorious in the NEPSAC Austin Bowl 28-0 over Lawrence Academy.  Kimball Union finished the season undefeated and untied for the first time since 1965 with a 9-0 record. 

   Travis Jones ran for 113 yards on 19 carries and 2 touchdowns to lead the Wildcats over Lawrence Academy.  Jones scored on runs of 11 and 3 yards.  Michael Gerardi added to the KUA scoring by completing 2 two point conversions and throwing a touchdown for KUA.  Gerardi finished the day 17-20 for 123 yards.  He connected with Kellan Grenier for the first two point conversion and Kasim Edabli for a conversion and 15 yard touchdown.  Colby Husby added KUA's final score on a 15 yard run.  Husby ran for 60 yards on 13 carries as the Wildcats kept a balanced offense throughout the day.

   The Wildcat defense posted their 3rd consecutive shutout and 4th of the year against Lawrence.  KUA held Lawrence to 1 first down in the 1st half and 43 yards of total offense.  The Wildcats forced 4 Lawrence turnovers, including an acrobatic interception by Akeem Labitue.  The defense swarmed Lawrence throughout the day and had many big hits against the Spartans.  Defensive leaders included Timm Kaminski, Alex Gray, Ross Jones, and Omari Mobley.

  The Wildcats football team would like to thank all of the students, family members, and alumni who traveled to Exeter to support the team.  It was an amazing year and the victory in the Austin Bowl was a fitting ending to a terrific season.
