KUA Takes First Lakes Region League Meet

Both the Kimball Union Academy girls’ and boys’ Cross Country teams finished in first place in last week’s Lakes Region meet at Vermont Academy. Finishing first for the lady Wildcats and third overall was freshman Caitlin Porrazzo with a time of 23:35 and hard on her heels in fourth place in the Lakes Region was twin Emma Porrazzo at 23:46. Senior Annie Loftus sealed the KUA girl’s victory over Holderness with a tenth place finish of 29:45.

 

The boy’s team had a great Lakes Region meet on Wednesday as they once again finished in top place. Junior Josh Huett led the pack with a first place finish of 18 minutes and 22 seconds. In second for the Cats and eighth overall was freshman Henry Vansant with a time of 21:22. Senior Isaac Dayno arrived half a minute later to secure 12th and round out third place for Kimball Union. Third year Aaron Mitchell came flying in at 22:24 to finish the scoring for KUA and take 14th place. Senior Phillip Sparks and freshman Josh Weiss, 16th and 42nd respectively, displaced for the Wildcats and helped beat out Proctor for the win. KUA runs at New Hampton next Wednesday.
