Senior captain Hailey Hart (Newton, MA) opened up the scoring for the Wildcats today less than two minutes into the game against the Cushing Penguins. The Penguins quickly answered back and scored a quick 3 before the Wildcats gained possession again. The score flip-flopped throughout 25 minutes and the first half ended 6 to 6. The Penguins came out strong in the second half scoring 3 goals to put them in the lead. The Wildcats fought back trying to keep the game in reach but the Penguins played a strong offensive game in the second half. For the Wildcats, Hart scored 1; senior Maura Doyle (Merrimac, MA) scored 1; junior Storm Sideleau (Contoocook, NH) scored 2; junior Ali Pollard (Meriden, NH) scored 2; and junior Morgan Walsh (Duxbury, MA) scored 3 goals for the Wildcats. Sideleau earned 6 draw controls to bring the Wildcats down on their offensive side. Sideleau, sophomore Jojo Schafer (Meriden, NH) and senior captain Gretchen Schissel (Newport, NH) earned interceptions on the defensive side. Christine Bouchat-Bonin kept the Wildcats in the game today with 13 saves in net.
