KUA ekes out a victory over Loomis 52-48 to win the Southall Basketball Classic.

The Kimball Union Boys basketball team took on host Loomis Chaffee School in the finals of the Southall Classic today and came away with a hard fought 52-48 victory. With both teams showing the effects of their third game in successive days, KUA's Crew Ainge and Jon Sui hit timely threes in the last minute to secure the win for the Wildcats.  Up three at the half, KUA then pushed their lead to 10 early in the second half only to see Loomis storm back and  tie the game at 38 with one quarter to play.  From that point on both teams defended well and traded baskets right up to the end.  Ainge ended up with 17pts, joined in double figures by Frater with 13.  Luke Rosinski pulled down 13 rebounds and had three blocks in the winning effort. With their record now at 7-2 KUA breaks for the holidays, returning to action on Monday, Jan 5 vs Sainte Foy, traveling down from Canada.
