St Paul’s outlasts Wildcats in second half en route to 12-8 victory

er
KUA built a 4-2 halftime lead only to fall 12-8 against a strong St. Paul’s squad. KUA set the pace and tone of the game with simple clears, patient offense, and disciplined defense.  Goalie Nick Parker recorded three timely saves in the first half and the defensive combination of Greg Surgenor, Jack McCarthy, Parker Hall, and Vasili Katsarakes kept sustained pressure on the St Paul’s attack. Long Poles Owen Manley and Z Ikeda allowed limited shots in the midfield while KUA middies Dylan van Leuwen-Hall and Andrew Robertello were equally effective on their marks. At the offensive end, Eric Megnia and Will Harrigan each contributed two goals while Kenny Speak, Gavin Black, and Mike Lombardi each netted one a piece. Speak had two assist and D-pole Jack McCarthy ran end to end before setting up Black’s goal.
KUA (3-2) hosts league rival New Hampton Wednesday at 2:30 on Pope Field.
