KUA beats CA

Kimball Union faced the Penguins of Cushing on Saturday afternoon. The game was hard fought and fast paced. KUA started with two goals in the first period. Shea scored with an assist from Finkelstein. Hamre then scored with an assist from Doherty to make it 2 to 0 heading into the second period. Five minutes into the second period and Young scored to make it 3 to 0 with an assist by Doherty. Cushing responded only two minutes later with a goal of their own to knock the lead to 2. Finkelstein then scored with an assist from Shero. The second period would then see three more goals, two from Cushing and one from Kimball Union. The last goal of the second came from Shea and was assisted by Finkelstein. Finally, the third period resulted in three Kimball Union goals. The first was scored by Lombardi and assisted by Griffin, the second was scored by J. Harris and assisted by Hamre, while the third was scored by Heinritz and assisted by Lombardi to make the final 8 to 4. With this win, the Wildcats extend their record to 14-2-1 overall. The Wildcats play next at Vermont Academy on Wednesday at 4:30pm.
