Kimball Union Academy’s baseball program is led by Head Coach Chad Sturgeon, with Lucas Kohli serving as assistant coach. Together, they are committed to elevating the program, attracting dedicated baseball-first athletes while also welcoming the immense talent within the KUA community. With a rich history of baseball excellence, the coaching staff is devoted to honoring and building upon those traditions.  

 

Our coaching philosophy is simple: we want our team to have fun, stay disciplined, and show respect—both on and off the field. Beyond skill development, our goal is to shape student-athletes into not only better baseball players but also exceptional individuals. We are dedicated to fostering a culture that is welcoming, hardworking, and driven by passion for the game.  

 

Kimball Union Academy boasts one of the premier indoor turf facilities in the NEPSAC. The 80x50-yard “Barn” features two full-size infields, two pitching mounds, and a drop-down batting cage, ensuring players can train year-round, regardless of New England’s unpredictable weather. Our modern weight room, paired with an elite strength and conditioning program, helps athletes maximize their potential and achieve their personal goals.  

 

Coach Sturgeon has a proven track record of developing young athletes and guiding them toward success at all levels. With an extensive network of college connections nationwide, he provides essential support in the recruitment process, helping families navigate their next steps.
