    2024 - 2025

Kimball Union’s equestrian program is guided by the widely recognized principles of the United States Pony Club (USPC). The program is hosted by KUA alumni and parents Sally Herbert ’83 and Tim Herbert ’84 at their beautiful, state-of-the-art Ring Brook Farm, located just 10 minutes from Kimball Union. Sally, who is a USPC District Commissioner, oversees the program personally with the assistance of  highly-qualified instructors.

The Kimball Union Equestrian program focuses on the development of sound riding skills and a love of equestrian sports. It offers riders of all abilities the opportunity to explore a variety of disciplines from dressage to jumping, mounted games, trail-riding through the gorgeous New Hampshire countryside, and much more. Equally important educational emphases are horse management and caring for a horse’s well being. The safety of both rider and mount is stressed throughout every aspect of the program.

Students visit Ring Brook Farm 5 days a week during the afternoon activity period and participate in mounted activities during 4 of those days and unmounted horsemanship activities on the fifth day. Thanks to Ring Brook’s spacious indoor arena, sessions run rain or shine. The program is offered during both the Fall and Spring trimesters.

    Horses

Ring Brook Farm’s happy herd of horses are well-trained, tried and true mounts. Riders are matched to horses based on ability and suitability. Ring Brook can also board a limited number of personally-owned horses to accommodate the active equestrian competitor.

Interested in seeing the farm in person? The Herberts are happy to give tours of the facility. Please make an appointment by calling the Admissions Office at 603-469-2100 or emailing admissions@kua.org.
