The Kimball Union Academy boys’ basketball program is a member of the highly competitive NEPSAC AA conference which has representation throughout New England. In addition to KUA’s NEPSAC AA competition, we schedule with some of the region’s top programs in NEPSAC AAA, A, and B. The program has historically achieved strong seasons that have garnered post-season tournament invites while seeing many of its student athletes land collegiate playing opportunities after graduating from The Hilltop. Many former Wildcat student athletes have played and continue to compete at top DI, DII, and DIII institutions. Recent graduates have moved on to programs such as NC State, William & Marry, Utah State, Towson State, Niagara, Dartmouth, Quinnipiac, Adelphi, Bentley, Lemoyne, Connecticut College, Ithaca, Pomona Pitzer, RIT, WPI, Kenyon, and Dickinson. Some former Wildcats have enjoyed professional careers with Nathan Knight ’16 the most notable, as a he heads into his third season in the NBA with the Minnesota Timberwolves franchise.
Friday Night took the KUA BVB squad to Lakes Region rival Tilton School for a 6:30pm tip off. The boys the from The Hilltop came out early with great energy and built a sizable double digit lead mid way through the 1st half. A talented Tilton squad batted back to keep it a single digit speed throughout the 2nd half. Seniors Rob Brown 21 pts, Matt Price 16pts and Dayi’on Thompson with 12pts set the pace for KUA on the offensive end and also saw significant contributions from Post-graduate point guard Kyle Jasper and Junior Nate Fouts. Always reliable Ryan Banks brought steady contributions on both ends but his impact was felt most on the defensive end of the floor. 6’11” Junior Émile Rioux’s impact was felt on the the defensive end as well. 11 KUA hoopsters found their way into the contest last night and we look forward to another 4:30pm tip-off Saturday, Feb 6th at Tilton School.
