The Kimball Union Girl's Varsity Soccer program has established itself as a formidable force within the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) competition. Their unwavering dedication and relentless pursuit of excellence have yielded admirable results over the past decade. From 2011 to 2015, they consistently advanced to the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds, showcasing their tenacity and skill on the field. However, their crowning achievement came in 2016 when they emerged triumphant as the NEPSAC Class C Champions, etching their name in the annals of the school's athletic history. Undeterred by their success, the team continued to demonstrate their prowess, securing semifinal berths in both the 2017 and 2018 New England Class C tournaments, solidifying their status as a perennial powerhouse in the region.

In 2024, the team will be led by Lucas Richardson, a career educator who currently serves on the leadership team of Soccer Without Borders, an award-winning sports-based youth development organization. Coach Richardson most recently served as head girls' soccer coach at Kent Denver, where he guided the team to an undefeated, championship-winning season and was selected as the Colorado High School 3A Coach of the Year. A former Dartmouth soccer player, Coach Richardson got his start as a coach in the Upper Valley and is excited to be returning to the area with his wife and four young children.

  • KUA Loses on Senior Day

GVS found their first Class C loss today playing against a tenacious New Hampton team. Dakoda drew a foul just outside the box with two minutes left in the first half. Captain Summer converted the free kick and put KUA up 1-0 for halftime. Defensive miscommunication in the second half allowed NHS to steadily put three in the back of the net. With only a few minutes left, Izzy pushed the ball in off a Summer corner kick to bridge the gap but it wasn't enough. Despite the loss, the team still enjoyed each other's company, celebrating our 13 seniors: Madeleine, Hadley B., Kai, Summer, Reese, Dakoda, Addi, Hadley M., Sylvie, Ava, Bethany, Isa, and Macy.
  • KUA Comes Back Too Late

GVS came out a bit too flat today and lost to Cushing Academy. Captain Summer put us on the scoreboard with less than five minutes left. The team rallied to find another but couldn't get there before the final whistle. The team is looking forward to their senior game this Saturday at 2:30pm on Pope Field.
  • KUA Loses to APS

KUA fought hard against a fast and skilled Austin Prep team. The one goal went in the last third of the first half. GVS played a tremendous defensive second half and then spent the last few minutes trying to send more girls forward to find the equalizer. Despite several chances, the Wildcats couldn't find the back of the net. A huge shoutout to Sydney for her amazing showing in goal today. Her back line were consistent the whole game and another shoutout to captain Reese and Shannon for playing the entire game in the midfield without ever giving up. The girls look forward to playing Cushing Academy at home on Wednesday.
  • KUA Beats Proctor for Second Time

GVS played against Proctor Academy under the lights for our PINK OUT game. The fans brought lots of wonderful energy the entire night, thank you everyone! KUA came out strong playing very well organized soccer. Captain Summer had a perfect corner kick, captain Bethany knocked it down with her head, and Dakoda grabbed the loose ball to knock it in for the one and only goal of the game. Sydney earned another clean sheet for the season. The girls are off to Austin Prep tomorrow for their third game of the week.
  • Wildcats Tie with the Bulls

KUA traveled to Holderness on a drizzly day. The Wildcats came out strong and scored quickly with many more opportunities. Unfortunately, with only two minutes left in the first half, Holderness slipped the ball past our defense and evened the score. GVS played with urgency in the second half to try to find the game winner without any luck. The team looks forward to playing on Friday night under the lights for our PINK OUT game against Proctor Academy.
  • KUA Beats Another Lakes Region Team

GVS traveled to New Hampton School today and started the game off with lots of energy. Captain Bethany hit the post within the first few minutes and the girls maintained possession for most the first half. The first goal started with captain Summer collecting the ball in the midfield and slotting it to Bethany on the right side. Bethany crossed it to Dakoda who settled it and passed it to Shannon. Shannon dribbled past a defender in the box and then was fouled quickly after. Summer took the PK and put KUA on the scoreboard. In the second half, the Huskies came out hard looking for the equalizer. Bethany provided more cushion when she popped the ball over a defender and as the goalie was coming out to collect it, she gently nudged it away and into the back of the net. Sydney had some killer saves and earned yet another clean sheet. The back four (Hadley, Olivia, captain Addi, and Madeleine) have become a solid unit and played well. The girls are looking forward to traveling to Holderness next Wednesday.

Captain Summer scored the first goal off a corner kick with the goalie making a good effort but ultimately fumbled it into the net. The second goal was again off a Summer corner kick with Izzy getting her head on it perfectly. Sydney collected another clean sheet for the season. The girls are looking forward to traveling to New Hampton School tomorrow for another Lakes Region game.
  • GVS Wins on Family Weekend

GVS played Tilton at home on Family Weekend. Though we ended with a definitive win, the girls started out sluggish. Still, we made three goals in the first half. In the first minute of the game, Dakoda picked up the first goal from a scramble in the box. About eight minutes later, captain Bethany took a shot from the left flank that soared into the back of the net. About eight minutes after that, Bethany took a shot from the center right side of the field, placing the ball on her left foot and sailing it into the upper left corner. In the second half the girls played a little bit more like themselves and were able to score five more goals. Five minutes into the second half, Izzy’s shot hit the crossbar, and Dakoda earned her second goal off the rebound. Five minutes later, KUA had their nicest team effort of the day. The ball started in our defensive end and after multiple passes and connections up the field, it ended with Izzy who dribbled past some defenders and earned her first KUA goal in the regular season. Two minutes later, captain Summer took a corner kick, and captain Addi successfully got her H on the B! In the 58th minute, once again, Summer took a corner kick, and this time, it was Izzy who got her head on the ball and tallied her second goal of the game. The last goal of the game came from Shannon popping it back to captain Reese who took a shot just outside the box to earn her first goal of the season. The Wildcats are looking forward to traveling to Wilbraham & Monson Academy tomorrow.
  • GVS Wins on the Road

The Wildcats traveled to Wilbraham & Monson Academy on the Saturday of their long weekend. After a three plus hour bus ride, the team only had 20 minutes to warm up. About halfway into the first half Ava served the ball just in front of the net from the right flank, and Dakoda got her head on it to push the ball in the back of the net putting KUA on the scoreboard. The second half started off a little flat. W&M tied it up after dribbling through our defenders. Only two minutes later, KUA responded after captain Summer drew a foul. Summer took the free kick, and captain Bethany was able to scramble with the goalie and push it in. The girls are looking forward to a few days off and then prepare for two back to back Lakes Region games next week.
  • GVS Ties with Exeter

GVS played a tough game against Exeter today to end in a 0-0 tie. Both goalkeepers played aggressively and kept everything out of both nets. We are looking forward to our game on Friday, which will be home on Grenier against Tilton School during our Family Weekend.
  • Great Win Under the Lights

We are looking forward to playing Exeter at home next Wednesday, October 16th at 3:45pm.
  • Another Tough Loss to Brewster

GVS traveled to Brewster Academy and found ourselves down 4-0 within 15 minutes. One more goal for Brewster brought the score to 5-0 at the half. After the first 20 minutes, KUA settled our nerves and found our groove. We held the Bobcats scoreless during the second half until the 71st minute. With only five minutes left, Bethany found the back of the net to get us on the scoreboard. Proud of the girls for never giving up. We look forward to traveling to Proctor Academy under the lights this Friday night at 6:30pm.

With some great through balls, we found some girls and got some chances in the box. Three penalty kicks were drawn, and KUA walked off the field two out of three with another clean sheet in goal. We are looking forward to facing Brewster again on Wednesday as a more organized team. Most importantly, everyone should wish Nick Antol a happy birthday tomorrow!

Captain Summer Combe kicked off the scoring in the first minute of the game with a loft outside the box that floated over the keeper's head. About one minute later captain Bethany Solari found the back of the net from the left flank. In the 15th minute Shannon Freeman earned her first KUA goal off a corner kick serve from Summer. Two minutes later, Shannon got her second goal after a nice cross from Izzy Anderson leaving the score 4-0 at the half. • Tough Home Opener

GVS had a tough home opener against a fast and organized Brewster Academy team. Despite captain Summer Combe putting in two shots in the first half, we were unable to keep the score close. A huge shoutout to Sydney Zackman for her amazing efforts in goal and for keeping us in the game.
  • Good Rebound

GVS had a good rebound after our tough loss against Brewster. Keeping the Class A NMH team to just two goals in the first half. Despite many injuries on the team, we still rose to the occasion and gave NMH a good fight. Shoutouts go to captain Reese Combe, Kai Bodell, and Shannon Freeman for stepping up big for the team. Our next game is away on Saturday, September 21 at 2:30pm against another Class A team, Deerfield Academy.
